Psychotalks24-Two minds In One

Have you ever think about how our brain works? Do we have two minds in one that think differently? Do some of us depend on one side of the brain more than the other? These questions are too complex but Sometimes, such questions arise in our mind.

So we'll take a closer look at the issues  involved in these generalizations about cerebral specialization.
By using soo many complex methods, scientists have compiled too many data on the specialized  abilities  of the right and left hemispheres. It shows us how the right and left brains might be related to cognitive processes. Here we have some cool and fascinating facts about our brain and its complex works and how it is specialized in some abilities.

  1. Research findings have been interpreted  that :The two hemispheres are specialized  to process different types of cognitive tasks.
  • Left hemisphere handles verbal tasks, analytic, abstract, rational, linear, language, speech, writing, math and logic.
  • While the right hemisphere handles nonverbal tasks, spatial problems, music, art, fantasy and creativity, synthetic,  concrete, non rational, intuitive and holistic.

Different people rely on different hemispheres: some people are left brained, their greater dependence on their left hemisphere and it makes them analytic, rational and logical. Some people are right brained,  due to their greater use of their right hemisphere they become intuitive, holistic  and irrational.

As per research,  being right brained or left brained is thought to explain many personal  characteristics,  such as whether an individual like to read or write, is good with maps or enjoys music etc.

However the research on cerebral specialization is complex but there are so many evidences that the right and left hemispheres are specialized to handle different types of cognitive tasks but only to a degree.

People differ in their patterns of cerebral  specialization. Some people display little specialization,  their hemispheres seem to have equal abilities  on various  types of tasks.
Also many studies proved that each hemisphere has its own mode of working, thinking and organizational style, although we know that it is difficult to generalize because it is difficult to define and measure  and also we cannot deny subjective experience of human being.

There is misconception that some people are left-brained or right-brained and this may can predict their cognitive abilities and interests but there is no scientific proof for this notion and till now we didn't found any proof about  this idea through brain- imaging or other techniques also, because our whole brain work simultaneously and if any area of our brain stop working properly the surrounded areas will adopt those functions as well.

In the end notes, we can understand it like  our brain consist very complex structure and functions as well, so we cannot claim on the basis of few experiments and studies that any one area is only perform only a single function, because it is a thread like structure which is interrelated with each other and function simultaneously, so we need some more scientific studies and experiments to gain more knowledge and particular function of our brain.
